Terms of Use — Bobby Build

By using this website you agree to these terms.

We offer two separate services:

• a free marketplace where homeowners post jobs and local tradespeople register interest; and
• Bobby Build's own building work, which is quoted separately and governed by the written quote or contract we provide for that job.

Posting a job is free and there's no obligation to hire anyone. Please give accurate information. Your contact details are only shared with tradespeople you choose to shortlist, and you decide who to hire.

Any contract for marketplace work is between you and the tradesperson you choose. Bobby Build is not a party to it and isn't responsible for their work, prices, timing or conduct.

Before hiring, check insurance, qualifications and registrations (for example Gas Safe, or NICEIC/Part P for electrical work where relevant), ask for references, and get a written quote.

You must be 18 or over, provide accurate information, hold the qualifications, insurance and registrations your work legally requires, and follow all applicable laws. Only contact homeowners about their job — no spam, and no reselling or reusing homeowner data.

Your account becomes active once you've confirmed your email and completed a basic profile (name, phone, main trade, base postcode and at least one service area). We don't check identity, qualifications or insurance before an account becomes active.

Bobby Build may separately review identity, business, insurance or qualification details and award a badge such as “ID Verified” or “Bobby Verified”. A badge only reflects the checks we recorded at that time. Unless a badge or profile states otherwise, we don't guarantee any tradesperson's qualifications or insurance.

We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms.

Registering interest in a job is free. Credits are only used when a homeowner shortlists you, which unlocks that homeowner's contact details and messaging for that job. The credit cost of each job, and the price of each credit pack, is shown before you confirm.

Prices include VAT where applicable. Credits are for your own use and can't be transferred. Credits don't expire. Used credits are non-refundable; if you think you were charged in error, contact us and we'll review it.

Nothing here affects your statutory rights.

Content you upload (including photos, profiles and reviews) must be honest, lawful and yours to share. You give us a licence to display it on the site to run the service. We may remove content that breaks these terms. Fake reviews are not allowed.

Don't use the site for anything illegal, harass anyone, scrape the site, try to bypass its security, or misuse other users' data.

We provide the site “as is” and don't guarantee it will always be available or error-free. We're not liable for work done by independent tradespeople or for losses that weren't foreseeable. Our total liability to tradespeople relating to credits is limited to the amount paid for credits in the previous 12 months.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law, and consumers keep their statutory rights.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. Consumers in Scotland or Northern Ireland may use their local courts.
